Aston Martin has set out to make its already bonkers Vulcan even more lethal.

Ready to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Vulcan AMR Pro gets louvred panels added above the front wheel arches and dive planes to keep its nose down at high speeds, while the front splitter has turning vanes underneath to “improve steering response”.

Aston Martin says the downforce improvements bring total downforce on the car up from an already huge 3150Nm, to 4000Nm. AM points out that its 2017 Vantage GTE Le Mans car only generates 3104Nm.

The car also gets a gearbox tune, with gear ratios being shortened for “intensified acceleration” and, with the downforce changes, reduced lap times.

The first work on customer cars is already being undertaken, with the first fully upgraded Vulcan to be complete in the northern Autumn.
