About the Suzuki Swift
The Suzuki Swift has been one of Australia’s go-to affordable small cars for decades.
There’s traditionally been a fun-to-drive element to the Swift, not least when GTi hot-hatch versions were offered.
In terms of size, the Swift sits between its Suzuki hatch siblings; the Ignis is smaller, and the Baleno is larger.
With compact exterior dimensions, the Swift still offers plentiful interior room compared to other cars in its segment. A pair of petrol combustion engines are available for the Suzuki Swift in Australia, with power sent to the front wheels.
The most affordable models are powered by a 1.2-litre petrol four-cylinder. A GLX Turbo offers more power with a turbocharged three-cylinder. The flagship model is the Suzuki Swift Sport – a warm hatch featuring a 103kW turbo four-cylinder.
Rivals for the Japanese city car include the Kia Rio, Mazda 2, MG3, Toyota Yaris, and Volkswagen Polo.
