Mercedes Lilienthal, a US-based automotive journalist, creates award-winning content involving vehicular adventure travel, the automotive industry, and women within it. She’s the Editor-At-Large of TREAD Magazine and is a contributor for The New York Times and other outlets like Car and Driver, Forbes Wheels, Autoblog, and more.
Mercedes also competes in rally competitions: 2018 Rebelle Rally, 2020 Alcan 5000 Rally, and most recently, partnering with Volkswagen of America for the 2021 Rebelle Rally.
Along with her husband, she owns three customized Mitsubishi 4x4s: a Delica Space Gear, and two Gen 2 Pajeros, as well as a modified subcompact car. Mercedes’ freelance work includes writing, photography, and PR/marketing services.
