- Potentially brittle steering wheel logo could cause injury if airbag deploys
- A total of 73,813 vehicles are affected
- Mazda is currently contacting known customers
Almost 74,000 Mazda 3s built between 2003 and 2006 have been placed under recall.
Covering 73,813 units, the notice has been issued due to the plastic Mazda logo on the car's steering wheel potentially becoming brittle – increasing its chances of fracturing upon airbag deployment.
If the plastic badge does shatter, it could be propelled towards the driver and result in injury to the vehicle's occupants.
