Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling its Sprinter van over an electrical fault.
The issue affects 855 examples of the model built between 2014 and 2018.
According to the Department for Infrastructure, certain vans with camper body/conversion may experience an electrical fault with the rear axle rotational speed sensor – which could cause some of the functions of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to deactivate.
If the ESP control unit functions are deactivated, the driving could become unstable and increase the risk of an accident.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz to arrange to have the work carried out as soon as possible at their local authorised dealer.
A full list of authorised dealerships can be found at: https://www.mercedes-benz.com.au/passengercars/mercedes-benz-cars/dealer-locator.html
Alternatively, consumers may use the Mercedes-Benz online booking service, by visiting www.mercedes-benz.com.au/servicebooking or call 1300 300 896.
A list of VINs for the vans is available here.
