- Bolts securing front seatbelts may not be sufficiently tightened
- Owners being contacted
Tesla has placed 97 Model 3s under recall after it was discovered the affected vehicles had insufficiently tightened bolts holding the front seatbelts in place.
Affecting units produced between 2018 and 2020, bolts may not be tight enough to operate properly in the event of an accident, causing potential harm to the front row occupants.
Tesla is currently contacting the owners of the 97 vehicles under recall although if you are unsure whether your car is affected, you can get in contact with your nearest Tesla dealer.
A list of affected vehicle's VINs can be found here.
The notice affects Model 3 vehicles built in the US between 2018-2020 and does not apply to any which have landed on Australian shores since February this year, as they have all been built in China.
