Nissan Australia has recalled just over 1000 of its Patrol vehicles over an ill-fitting fuel pump problem.

The issue affects 1158 Patrol models built between 2019 and 2020.

According to the Department for Infrastructure, the fuel pump module may not have been manufactured properly and may bind internally, restricting or stopping fuel to the engine.

If fuel flow is restricted or stopped, the engine may stall during driving, and the vehicle may not restart.

This could in turn increase the risk of an accident and injury to occupants or other road users.

A list of VINs for the affected cars is available here.

When parts become available, owners will be advised to contact their local Nissan dealer to organise for an inspection and repair, free of charge.

For further information, contact Nissan on 1800 035 035.
