The 2017 Citroen C3 is a city car designed for the Facebook generation, with a GoPro-inspired HD camera that can record photos and videos for social media.
Citroen says its ConnectedCam can also be used as evidence in the event of an accident as the system can automatically record 30 seconds before and 60 seconds after a car crash.
The 2-megapixel camera is positioned behind the rear-view mirror and uses a wide-angle lens for an expansive view out of the windscreen.
The driver or passenger can click a button on the camera to take road-trip photos or, when the car is stationary, hold the button to record videos up to 20 seconds in length.
Photos and videos saved in the GPS-enabled camera’s 16-gigabyte memory can be accessed for viewing or sharing via Citroen’s corresponding ConnectedCam app.
The latest-generation Citroen C3 is currently under consideration for the Australian market. It competes with models including the Mazda 2 and Toyota Yaris.
