Although it’s the start of a new Supercars season, its as though nothing’s changed, with Scott McLaughlin taking out both races of the Adelaide 500 season opener.
But a lot has changed. We now have a new Mustang Supercar for Ford fans to get behind, and defending champions at DJR Team Penske have gone two from two at the opening racing weekend.
While some were less than enthusiastic about the new Mustang Supercar, its success doesn’t lie.
But more than Supercars, the Adelaide 500 weekend was action-packed with a multitude of support categories, on-track displays and paddock showcases.
Audi’s R8 LMS Cup showdown hosted two rounds of GT3/GT4-spec racing, Touring Car Masters fought door-to-door for classic racer glory and Brabham’s new BT62 was joined by 1980’s Formula 1 icons for demonstration laps.
