WhichCar style awards behind the scenes

On the surface, it all looks like a beautifully executed, surreally perfect sunny day with seven of the world’s most desirable cars and an amazing array of the most style-aware judges in Australia. And for the most part, the 2019 WhichCar Style Award is just that – a celebration of the very best examples of automotive design from around the world.

The Award – which we preview here – features cars from Alfa Romeo, Range Rover, Alpine, Audi, Jaguar, Ford and Toyota – and we’ll announce the winner at the 2019 Australian Motoring Awards on January 30.

Of course, underneath the elegant black swan gliding majestically across unruffled waters is a pair of legs furiously paddling as fast as possible… and so it is with any awards judging process.

We sent our own Aiden Taylor in behind the scenes to not just get a low-down on the cars and the judging process, but he also reveals the far less stylish side of the Style Awards!
