The close of this year's Shanghai and New York motor shows marks the end of the car show 'season', so MOTOR magazine has put together a gallery of its 10 all-time favourite concept cars.

Concepts allow a car maker to show its skills, test future ideas (in public), preview up-coming models, let design teams 'off the chain', and create extra buzz around its production models.
