Welcome to episode two of the Performance Car Podcast.
In this episode MOTOR Magazine Editor Dylan Campbell and Associate Editor Scott Newman will be discussing performance SUVs. Every premium manufacturer now either has at least one of these in its range or has one under development and it seems that they are a guaranteed hit with the buying public.
We discuss how the trend emerged, why we think it's so popular, ones we've driven that have impressed us and ones that we've found have fallen short.
Our studio this episode is the Audi SQ7, the new performance flagship of Audi's Q7 SUV range. It typifies the genre by using an enormous amount of technology - active anti-roll bars, all-wheel steering, electric compressors on the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel engine - move a huge, heavy car extremely quickly.
