Snapshot
- All versions of Ferrari's 458 and 488 recalled
- Potential brake failure stems from a minor part issue
- Total of 840 units affected
All examples and variants of two Ferrari supercar models have been recalled, with both affected by the same issue.
Covering a total of 840 vehicles in Australia, the 2010-2019 recall is applied to Ferrari's 458 and 488 supercars.
According to the recall notice, the brake fluid reservoir cap in both models may provide insufficient ventilation to the brake fluid reservoir, leading to a reduction in the braking ability of the vehicle.
Owners of affected models are encouraged to contact their preferred Ferrari dealership or Ferrari Australia to arrange a replacement of the reservoir cap, with an additonal software update also needed, free of charge.
Those who are unsure as to whether their cars are affected can contact Ferrari directly on 1800 234 392, with the service available 24/7.
