Volkswagen Australia is recalling more than 2000 examples of its T6 van as the front doors may not shut properly.
The issue affects 2295 T6.1 vehicles, including the Multivan, Transporter and Caravelle, made between 2020 and 2021.
Due to a manufacturing problem, the locking mechanism on the front doors may not latch and could remain stuck in the open position.

If this happens, the door can open while driving – increasing the risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
Owners of affected vehicles can contact their authorised Volkswagen Dealer to schedule an appointment to have the work carried out free of charge.
For further information, VW can also be contacted on 1800 504 076.
A list of VINs for the vehicles involved is available here.
