- 2021-22 Lexus LX and NX models recalled
- Two issues relating to software and welding
- A total of 1028 cars are included in the notice
Lexus is recalling a total of 1028 LX and NX vehicles built between 2021 and 2022.
Two notices have been issued, with the first relating to a software glitch with an important safety system, while the second affects car body welds.
According to the first recall notice published by the Department of Infrastructure, if the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system is turned off on LX and NX models, the technology may remain off the next time the car is started.
While warning lights will indicate VSC is not operational, the driver could misunderstand or remain unaware, potentially putting the vehicle in a dangerous situation where control is lost.
The second – which only relates to Lexus NX models – states the welding of the front shock absorber mounting areas may not be correct, causing the parts to detach and increasing the likelihood of an accident.
Lexus Australia will contact affected owners, but the company can be reached directly by calling 1800 023 009 or visiting a dealership, found here.
