Mercedes-Benz Australia has once again issued a recall for its S450, this time due to a software issue impacting the airbag control unit.
It’s the third such occasion in the last few months, following other recalls over faults with the car’s SOS system and fuel pump.
According to the Department for Infrastructure, which issued the notice, if the airbag is deactivated in the event of an accident, this may increase the risk of injury or death to a vehicle occupant.

A list of VINs for the 193 affected vehicles is available here.
Owners should contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
Mercedes-Benz can be contacted on: 1300 300 896.
