Snapshot
- 2021 Ram 2500 and 3500 models recalled
- Notice relates to a potential engine bay fire
- 373 vehicles affected – but only 39 on the road so far
Both the 2021 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks have been placed under recall due to the risk of an electrical fire in the engine bay.
The notice, issued by the Department for Infrastructure, states the “intake air heater relay may experience an electrical short”, and that the problem can even occur when the ignition is switched off.
If the short does occur, there is a serious risk that the vehicle could catch on fire even when it is not in use.
The recall states that 373 vehicles could be affected by the issue. However, only 39 of those have been delivered to customers so far, with the remainder being repaired before they've even been converted from left- to right-hand drive or sold.
Owners are urged to contact their local Ram dealership, which will fix the issue free of charge.
