The 2022 BMW X3 and X4 will gain limited-run Frozen Edition variants, tagging on to the flagship M40i grades of each model.
Capped at a total of 37 units between the X3 and its coupe-styled X4 sibling, the Frozen Edition is a sportier aesthetic package added to the range-topping M40i, with reservations opening earlier this morning for a fee of $2500.
Available from $142,900 (X3) and $152,900 (X4) drive-away, the addition of the Frozen Edition package adds roughly $13,600 and $15,000 to the purchase price of the standard M40i, with no extra mechanical changes across either model.

As previously mentioned, the Frozen Edition is a visual package for the exterior and interior, with the extra premium coming with equipment such as:

Both the X3 and X4 are otherwise unchanged, with the M40i grades still powered by BMW's TwinPower 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged petrol straight-six engine, developing 285kW and 500Nm.
The M40i can achieve the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds thanks to its all-wheel drive system, returning a combined fuel economy of 8.9L/100km in regular driving conditions.
BMW says the first examples of its X3 M40i Frozen Edition will arrive from the second quarter of 2022.
