The 2022 Cupra Ateca is to arrive in Australia later this year, in high-spec Australia-only VZx trim, the brand has announced today.

As the only Cupra Ateca model grade offered in Australia, the VZx will come with as standard; 19-inch Exclusive Sport alloy wheels in black and copper, full LED headlights with daytime running lamps, rear LEDs with dynamic ‘swiping’ indicators, automatic high-beam, dynamic chassis control and progressive steering – to name a few.

At first glance – though not yet confirmed – the VZx appears to sit above the VZ3 top-spec variant available in the UK, with more features on offer as standard such as progressive steering, three-zone climate control and aluminium pedals. An Akrapovic exhaust system and panoramic electric sunroof are also new optional extras.

The Ateca will form part of Cupra’s Australian model launch in July this year, which also includes the Leon hatchback, and the Formentor crossover SUV. The Born EV is slated to arrive towards the end of 2022.
