- Kia increases prices of EV6 range
- Entry-level Air grade now starts at $72,590 before on-road costs
- Flagship GT-Line AWD variant tops out at $87,590
The hot-in-demand 2022 Kia EV6 has become the latest victim of a price increase, hit by an adjustment earlier this month.
Launched in Australia back in February, the EV6's features and specs remain unchanged despite Kia's price rise, which has resulted in all three variants going up by $4600.
Kia's new prices for the EV6 push the entry-level Air RWD variant above the $70,000 marker, now starting at $72,590 before on-road costs, while the GT-Line RWD grade retains its $7000 premium above its counterpart with a list price of $79,590.
Originally put up for sale at a price of $82,990, the flagship GT-Line AWD is now $87,590 before on-road costs, raising questions about just how much the performance EV6 eGT will go for when it lands in Australia in late 2022 or early 2023.
Last month, the Australian arm of Kia confirmed it was aiming to deliver roughly 100 more examples of its electric vehicle to local buyers this year, following on from its initial allocation which was capped around 600 units.
The EV6 also beat its Hyundai Ioniq 5 cousin to take the top prize in this year's Wheels Car of the Year awards, becoming the first Korean manufacturer to do so in the competition's 60-year history.
