Snapshot
- ES 250 joins existing line-up with direct-injection engine
- ES 300 now has larger range of options
- Range starts from $61,620 plus on-road costs
The 2022 Lexus ES range has undergone an update with a new direct-injection 2.5-litre engine joining the line-up, adding to the existing hybrid powertrain.
Dubbed ES 250, the new variant delivers less power and torque along with higher fuel consumption than its 300h hybrid sibling, but will arrive in showrooms at a more attractive price when the 2022 model becomes available on September 29.
Despite production delays for the Japanese marque and its parent company Toyota, the new ES range is currently on sale in Australia, arriving just before the start of the fourth quarter (October to December inclusive).
