Australian pricing for the new 2023 Lexus RZ electric SUV has been announced today ahead of its May launch, arriving in the form of the high-grade RZ 450e.
The mid-size SUV is the first Lexus to be built on a dedicated all-electric platform, following the petrol/electric UX small SUV.
The RZ's arrival also makes it an in-house alternative to the petrol- and petrol-electric hybrid RX range.
NOTE: Australian right-hand-drive photos will arrive in the coming weeks.

2023 Lexus RZ pricing, power and driving range
The RZ 450e will come to Australia in two grades: Luxury and Sports Luxury, priced from $123,000 and $135,000, respectively.
These prices exclude on-road costs, and neither variant is eligible for federal- or state-based purchase incentives.
Both models are powered by a 71.4 kWh lithium-ion battery unit that produces 230 kW of power and delivers a claimed driving range of 470 kilometres.
The vehicle can be charged via a three-phase power supply, taking approximately 6.5 hours, or a DC fast-charging system that can charge to 80 per cent in about 30 minutes. An 11kW on-board charger is also provided.
The RZ 450e is the first Lexus built on the e-TNGA platform, developed specifically for EVs. As with all dedicated electric car architectures, the platform is intended to provide the RZ with strong body rigidity, a low centre of gravity, and a long wheelbase – now something of a trademark for EVs.
The RZ 450e also employs an electric 'e-axle' for both the front and rear wheels, designed to distribute optimum power and grip to each wheel as required.
