2024 Hyundai Palisade details revealed in dealer bulletin

Preliminary details for the updated 2024 Hyundai Palisade have been revealed in a leaked dealer bulletin posted on social media.

Due in local showrooms before the end of the year – with official details to be announced soon – the updated Palisade will receive a blacked-out flagship, a new Calligraphy variant replacing the Highlander, and more features in Australia.

The bulletin – likely subject to final changes by Hyundai Australia – reveals the new Calligraphy variant will replace the current Highlander with new features, including a touch-type climate control panel, hydrophobic front door glass, and acoustic laminated rear door glass.

Other features available overseas, but not in Australia, include digital key functionality, an in-car WiFi hotspot, 64-colour interior ambient lighting, and power-folding and heated third-row seats.

A blacked-out Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink variant will act as the new flagship in the updated line-up, adding a black exterior design, black 20-inch alloy wheels, dark-tinted badges and tail-light garnish, black suede seats and headlining, and a revised aluminium centre console pattern.

It is believed to be based on the Palisade Black Edition detailed for South Korea earlier this year, while a Calligraphy Night Edition will be added to the United States line-up.

Both Calligraphy variants will be available with a 3.8-litre petrol V6 in front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel, and are believed to be offered in both seven- or eight-seat form with second-row captain’s chairs for the former setup.

The entry-level Palisade Elite will add equipment previously limited to the flagship, including an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, a cargo area carpet mat, melange fabric headlining, and a vertical wood-look trim insert.

‘Deluxe’ alloy scuff plates and front door acoustic laminated glass will be added to all Palisade variants. All other equipment is believed to carry across from the current model.

The updated 2024 Hyundai Palisade is due in local showrooms later this year, with official details to be announced soon.

Price rises are likely to account for the additional equipment and the new flagship variant, but this has yet to be confirmed. The current Palisade range is priced between $65,900 and $79,900 before on-road costs.

VFACTS new-car sales data reveals 2014 examples of the Hyundai Palisade have been registered in Australia in 2023 to the end of June, behind the Toyota Kluger (4658) and soon-to-be-discontinued Mazda CX-9 (3382) but ahead of the Nissan Pathfinder (927).
