Apple fans rejoice. You can now, legally, play with your phone while you’re driving. But only if you’re in a Honda. In America.
Honda today announced plans to introduce Siri connectivity into its 2013 Accord, as well as two models from its luxury arm Acura.
The system will be rolled out later this year and means Siri can read text messages, respond to emails, give sports scores, set meetings and make calls on the go.
It’s part of Apple’s new ‘Eyes Free’ mode, which works while your phone’s screen stays dark.
No word on pricing yet, or if it will be available in Australia, but Honda isn’t the only car marker investing in this technology. Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Mercedes, GM and Jaguar are all understood to be working on similar systems.
