The local arrival of Audi’s E-Tron GT has been delayed to 2022, Audi has confirmed.
Revealed to the public earlier this year, the low-slung, four-door electric vehicle was initially slated for a mid-late 2021 landing in Australia, but this has now been amended – with Audi’s local arm stating the launch will not now occur until next year.
No specific timing has been released, although Audi won’t want the E-Tron GT to lose much ground in the sales race to its Stuttgart sibling – the Porsche Taycan. Both vehicles are built on the J1 platform, but with slightly different dynamics to reflect each brand.

With an 85.7kWh battery pack under the floor, both the standard and RS variants of the E-Tron GT have a driving range of more than 400km, while power and torque sits at a punchy 350kW/630Nm and 440kW/830Nm respectively.
In Europe, the E-Tron GT is on sale from €99,800 (AU$160,700) or €138,200 (AU$222,600) for the RS variant, with no Australian pricing confirmed as yet. Comparatively, the equivalent Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo retail for $194,700 and $276,300 locally before on-road costs.
