Building bespoke vehicles is one of the main pillars of Bentley's Mulliner division, creating products for its customers which are limited and unlikely to ever be replicated.

Established in 2020 with the reveal of the Bacalar roadster, Mulliner has completed its first production spec vehicles, ready to be delivered to its customers.

The first of the two vehicles is the aforementioned Bacalar, a V12 two-seater which will be limited to just 12 units, each at a base price of $2.9million although Bentley believes owners could fork out in excess of $4m for the completed, customised vehicle.

This particular example has been finished in a colour called atom silver – a champagne-tinted satin silver – with dark grey satin and gloss moss green 22-inch wheels, featuring polished faces which complements the exterior paint.

Those moss green highlights also feature on; the grille centre bar, headlight surrounds, the upper body chrome surround, its "power humps" at the rear of the car and the exhaust tip inserts.

Its interior has dark Nappa leather seats which are accented with moss green stitching, combining with Moss Green highlights on the console wings and outer seat backs.

The rest of the cabin is covered in Beluga leather as well as Open Pore Riverwood trim, the latter finished with a gloss black veneer and satin bronze detailing across the cockpit.

Other bespoke features to this particular Bacalar include a satin nickel clock and Bentley rotating dials, matching Bacalar luggage and bright chrome Bentley wings.

The second car to come from the Mulliner workshop is the first from its Continuation Series – a recreation of a 1929 Blower Bentley, as originally raced by Sir Tim Birkin.

In period correct Birkin green, the recreated vehicle is an identical replica to the Bentley Team Car No. 2 upon which it is based, right down to its leather interior trim and wire wheels.

While it still retains a 4.5-litre engine, this modern remake has just a few 21st century features to help make it slightly safer and more reliable – an electric fuel pump, a foam baffle in the fuel tank and a dynator charging system, replacing the standard dynamo.

The Mulliner crew are busy completing the remaining 12 Bacalars as well as other vehicles for its Continuation Series, although prices of the modern classics aren't disclosed.
