BENTLEY has finally settled on a name for its luxury-laden SUV that will fight the likes of Range Rover and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class: Bentayga.
According to the luxury British marque, Bentayga is a name "inspired by the natural world", that also happens to incorporate the name of the marque's founder.
"Crowning the Northern Hemisphere, to the north of Bentley’s birthplace in England, is the dramatic beauty of the Taiga, the world’s largest transcontinental snowforest," Bentley said in a statement announcing the origins of the name.
"To the south, the rugged peak of the Roque Bentayga in the subtropical Canary Islands draws attention from all directions and a challenging climb rewards with spectacular panoramic views of a rich and diverse landscape. "
According to Bentley, the Bentayga will be revealed later this year, and on sale in 2016.
