The next title in the Forza Horizon video game series has been given a dramatic Australian launch, featuring a Polaris dropping from a helicopter.
Attached to the bottom of a chopper some 1400 metres in the sky, the Polaris side-by-side vehicle eventually makes its way down to terra firma gently thanks to its parachute, followed by professional skydiver, Ossie Khan.
Kahn then removes his and the Polaris's parachutes – the work of a mere moment thanks to some editing trickery – and then proceeds to tear across the paddock, kicking up so much computer generated pink smoke it makes it look like he's leaving a gender reveal party.
The stunt was released on YouTube on the same day Horizon 5 officially goes live for all Xbox and PC owners, featuring around 500 cars to choose from.
Based in Mexico, the game's map is around 50 per cent larger than the environment from the previous title, Horizon 4 – itself a significant jump over the Australian-based Horizon 3.
With the seventh instalment of the Gran Turismo game series set to launch in March next year for Playstation, Microsoft is hoping it has the clear jump over its console rival.
