HSV's wildest ever ute, the GTS Maloo, is now sold out.

At time of writing, just two of the initial 250-strong build run are left in dealer land and both have customers' names next to them.

Despite the $87,990 price tag ($90,490 for the auto), demand was strong for HSV's super ute. And why not? At last year's Performance Car of the Year test, the mighty Maloo smashed through 0-100km/h in just 4.46sec and demolished the quarter mile in 12.54sec - outrageous numbers for a trayback.

The GTS Maloo shared many of its parts with its sedan sibling, including the 430kW/740Nm 6.2-litre supercharged LSA V8, massive AP Racing brakes and huge 9.75-inch rear differential with torque vectoring.

The only real mechanical difference between the two was the lack of MRC adaptive dampers in the Maloo; the limited build run meant recalibrating them for the ute's different weight distribution and wheelbase was not cost effective.

Sadly, despite being so similar on paper, something was lost in translation from sedan to ute, and the GTS Maloo never felt as agile or anjoyable as the four-door. You can read our full review here.

That said, it's a helluva way to cart tools around and is guaranteed to be a sought-after collectable in years to come.
