Key Points

  • Hyundai Seven concept to debut at AutoMobility LA
  • Concept will likely become the Ioniq 7 crossover
  • Production model will be the third vehicle in Hyundai's Ioniq line-up

Hyundai continues to tease its fully-electric future, providing a teaser of its new SEVEN crossover concept.

Set to debut at the AutoMobility LA show in just under a fortnight, Hyundai's large crossover concept will eventually make its way into production as the Ioniq 7 in 2024, joining the recently launched Ioniq 5 and yet-to-be-released Ioniq 6.

As the largest of the three fully-electric vehicles, the Ioniq 7 is set to become an EV equivalent to the Hyundai Palisade SUV, with the potential for both six and seven seat configurations for families.

The pixel-style front lights are reminiscent of the front and rear light bars on the Staria people mover, as well as the eight-bit-esque units on the Ioniq 5, although in this case the fog lights are vertically mounted.

Inside the cabin, the eco-friendly theme continues with the use of environmentally sustainable materials to create interior furnishings, seemingly without sacrificing luxury.

Hyundai has previously said all of its future Ioniq models will be underpinned by the E-GMP platform, with the electric architecture currently powering the Ioniq 5 in 160kW, rear-wheel drive and 225kW, all-wheel drive guise.
