Indian carmaker Tata is on the scene again, following up its dimunitive Nano light car and the Pininfarina-designed Pr1ma with an all-new concept: the Tata Pixel.
The Tata Pixel is actually a diesel-powered city car designed with the European buyer in mind. The engine is positioned beneath the Pixel's rear seat, giving the concept a rear-mid-engine layout.
The real trick to the Pixel, Tata says, is the "Zero Turn turoidal traction-drive Infinitely Variable Transmission" which helps ultra-tight parallel parking in dense urban areas by turning the outside rear forward and the inside wheel backward.
