Lambo faster than a jet

It’s official. Lamborghinis are faster than planes. On the ground anyway.

Lamborghini became the first brand ever to travel down a runway faster than a plane overnight, belting its new 522kW Aventador Roadster at Miami airport.

The roofless Lambo hit 338km/h on the runway, nearly 100km/h faster than the take-off speed of an average passenger jet.

The stunt is part of Lamborghini’s 50th birthday celebrations, with the brand celebrating in typical flamboyant style. It also marked the official launch of the Aventador Roadster in America, which included a 50-vehicle parade down South Beach.
