McLaren 675LT on the limit

We're not usually big fans of promotional videos here at MOTOR.

They tend to be made by marketers rather than enthusiasts, featuring heavily on "emotion" and "soul" while being light on actual action.

McLaren, however, are a company of racers through and through, and it shows with this new video for the 675 "Long Tail" - 675LT for short - which predominantly shows Woking's new supercar being thrashed to within an inch of its life.

The 675LT is essentially a more focused, hardcore version of the 650S - what the Speciale was to the 458 - though the changes go much deeper than a little extra power and a little less weight.

Its acceleration is almost fantasy - 0-200km/h in 7.9sec - and its lap times are said to be much closer to the P1 than the 650S.

If the video is anything to go by, however, it still knows how to play, leaving two thick black lines through each corner.
