McLaren has revealed it will add make a Track Pack available for its Super Series range-topper, the McLaren 720S.
The 720S’ Track Pack will be relatively similar to other Track Packs that have been offered in the past, though McLaren draws strong links between this pack and the development of the McLaren 720S GT3 racer.
McLaren says the Track Pack comprises both functional and visual elements and saves 24kg from the overall weight of the 720S. This means it would weigh 1395kg rather than 1419kg.
Despite the slight diet and sharpened dynamic performance, the engine outputs remain 530kW and 770Nm for the 3993cc twin-turbo V8. McLaren says 0-200km/h still comes along in 7.8 seconds.
The most visible changes to the 720S with the Track Pack are lightweight 10-spoke forged alloys, an MSO gloss carbon fibre active rear spoiler, and a sports exhaust.
McLaren says it also scores the hood air intakes, rear fender air intakes, and carbon door mirror casings which feature on the 720S Performance edition.
Carbon extends inside the cabin to the seats and shift paddles, while Alcantara trims the wheel, and a bar behind the seats holds 6-point harnesses for both occupants.
A bespoke Track setting joins the 720S’ drive modes, and customers are also able to use McLaren’s telemetry system to monitor their performance and timing data.
MOTOR has contacted McLaren for local pricing and availability for the McLaren 720S Track Pack and awaits a response.
As a guide, in the UK the pack costs £28,360, or £224,700 as an already-built car. McLaren says UK prices for a standard 720S start at £208,600. The McLaren 720S starts from $515,080 in Australia as standard.
