The Flavsta not despised by all

Ex Renault F1 team principal Flavio Briatore may have been banned from formula one indefinitely for his role in 'crashgate' but the flamboyant Italian still has his supporters, including Mark Webber.

"In my own experience, Flavio has been a sensational manager," Webber told The Inside Line.

"In the 11 years I've been managed by his company, I haven't had to pull the contract out of the drawer to review it once. I don't think there are many people you can say that about in the F1 paddock."

Webber, who must end his managerial relationship with Briatore or face not having his F1 superlicence renewed, says he's in no mad rush to formally crunch the relationship.

"I will catch up with the necessary people when I get back from the flyaway races," Webber said.

Meanwhile FIA president Max Mosley has revealed that Bernie Ecclestone voted against his mate and business partner Briatore getting a lifetime ban.

"A substantial majority [of the motor sport's council] were in favour of punishing Briatore, but Bernie was in a minority," Mosley said.
