Nissan, in co-operation with Nismo (a Japanese tuning house) has released computer-generated footage of its latest creation – the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC.
It’s not your everyday race car, and offers only modest performance, because it runs on an 80kW AC electric motor that propels it to 100km/h in 6.85sec and on to a top speed of 150km/h.
The Leaf Nismo RC can compete in races up to 20 minutes in length before it needs charging. As it lacks a petrol engine, it emits no noise, so we can’t see packed grandstands rising to their feet for this one anytime soon.
