The Stellantis-owned era of Opel continues to churn out badge-engineered vehicles for the German manufacturer, this time in the form of a light quadricycle.

Based on the Citroen Ami two-seater, the Opel Rocks-e is a two-door EV with a total driving range of 75 kilometres, provided by its 5.5kWh battery pack which can be recharged in just three and a half hours.

Apart from changing the Citroen's chevron-style badges to its own lightning strike design, and a mild showing of its new 'Vizor' design language, not much is different on the tiny Opel – it's still powered by a 6kW electric motor, which can propel it up to speeds of 45km/h.

At a maximum weight of 425 kilograms excluding its battery pack, the Rocks-e and its Ami twin aren't classified as cars, rather quadricycles – which means, in some European countries, they can be operated by drivers as young as 15 years-old.

Despite its external dimensions being 2.41 metres in length and just 1.39 metres wide (sans mirrors), Opel claims the Rocks-e's cabin is still comfortable for occupants over 1.9 metres tall, with up to 65-litres of storage space in the passenger footwell when unoccupied.

The Rocks-e will be offered with an entry-level variant, as well as "Klub" and "TeKno" trim levels, although there are no plans to bring the ultra-light vehicle to Australia.
