Japanese racing legend Keiichi Tsuchiya will drive the new Pagani Huayra BC at this year’s World Time Attack Challenge (WTAC) at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Tsuchiya is revered in his Japanese homeland as the Drift King, however his racing achievements are just as notable, the highlight taking second place at the 1999 Le Mans 24 Hour in the Toyota GT-One.
According to WTAC CEO Ian Baker, this makes Tsuchiya ideally suited to demonstrating the abilities of Pagani’s latest 588kW/1100Nm twin-turbo V12 track monster. “Tsuchiya-san is the perfect choice,” said Baker. “With his Le Mans and Japanese Super GT experience, he will be able to get the most out of the car.”
Tsuchiya will drive the car during “Midday Mayhem” on both the Friday and Saturday, while at other times the Huayra BC will be on display in the pits.
Just 20 examples of the extreme Italian hypercar will be built and all are sold, so this is likely to be your only chance to ever see one in action in Australia. World Time Attack Challenge takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park on October 14 and 15.
