French manufacturer Peugeot is set to launch its next electrified model, with the 408 slated for reveal later this month.
Teased online with just one solitary image of its front end, the marque all but confirmed the new model will be a crossover, saying it "combines the characteristic codes of SUVs with a dynamic fastback silhouette".
Set to be a worldwide model, the new 408 will be totally different to Peugeot's south-east Asian offering, which currently wears the nameplate, saying it will instead be a global car.
From what we can see, the 408 will adopt styling cues from the rest of Peugeot's Stellantis-era models in its grille design, as well as placing its own name front-and-centre on the upper bumper.
It has been rumoured the 408 will be based on the Stellantis EMP2 platform, a common architecture within Peugeot's current range which has spawned similar crossover-coupe concepts such as the new Citroën C4.
No specific date has been locked in yet, but Peugeot says it will unveil the 408 in full "towards the end of June".
