Professional rally driver and co-founder of Hoonigan, Ken Block, was killed in a snowmobile accident today at the age of 55.
The loss of the father of three was confirmed by The Hoonigans in a statement: “It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today.”
“Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed.”
Block is known for reigniting the passion for rally in the United States after starting his career later in life and winning the Rookie of the Year award in 2005’s American Rally championship.
Wearing his signature number 43, Ken went on to inspire enthusiasts young and old with innovative Gymkhana videos produced by the Hoonigan brand and became a beloved member of the car community.
Ken Block is survived by his wife, Lucy, and three children. Aside from driving highly-tuned rally cars and race cars, in his spare time Block participated in winter sports such as snowboarding, snowmobiling and riding UTVs.
