Of all the cars we're denied in Australia, possibly the one that hurts the most is the Shelby GT350 and its hardcore R sibling.
This video is a perfect example of what we're missing out on, with Texan tuner Hennessey Performance, best known for its crazy 420km/h+ Venom GT, performing a top speed run in a standard GT350R before it starts to tinker.
The GT350R is powered by a 392kW/581Nm 5.2-litre flat-plane crank 'Voodoo' V8, which screams all the way to 8250rpm and shifts this super 'Stang to 100km/h in a tick over four seconds. It's also available with cool Australian-made carbon fibre wheels as an option.
For those who really want a taste of the GT350 action, Ford Performance is intending to offer a 5.2-litre crate motor, though with a conventional cross-plane crank.
