Drivers in Sydney will cop another increase to the cost of living, with tolls across the city to ratchet up again on New Year’s Day.
From January 1, 2022, the cost of using toll roads in the New South Wales capital will increase by as much as 4.1 per cent.
Though the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel will remain at their current prices, those driving on the Westconnex M4 will see prices jump from $8.52 to $8.87.
The Westconnex M8 will increase to $7.52 from $7.23, and the Northconnex toll road will go up from $8.36 to $8.44.
The news is worse for truck drivers, with the Westconnex M4 costing as much as $26.61 per trip.
The Cross City Tunnel will see the smallest change, with an increase of 5c for cars.
While the price changes may seem minor, it’s estimated those who rely on the Westconnex M4 for their daily commute will be paying an additional $87.50 each year.
