Volvo Australia has been rated one of the country’s best places to work.

The car-focused arm of the Swedish marque was among the most popular employers in the 2022 Best Places to Work report released this week by WRK+.

The WRK+ ranking is based on a range of key measures, including; employee benefits, learning and development policies, office environment, parental leave and flexible work arrangements, diversity and inclusion.

In addition to being a certified 'Family Friendly Workplace', Volvo provides a range of support to its staff via its innovative Family Bond policy.

Under said policy, Volvo Car Australia staff can access extended leave entitlements including 24 weeks of paid leave (at 80 per cent of salary) for all parents, including same-sex, surrogate, adoptive and permanent foster parents, as well as paid miscarriage leave, and family and domestic violence leave.

“We are pleased that Volvo’s ranking in the 2022 WRK+ study recognises Volvo’s ongoing commitment to its staff and their welfare in the workplace, and at home” said Volvo's Managing Director Stephen Connor.

“One of the few positives that has emerged from the global pandemic is reminding everyone of what is really important. We have all lived through a period of disconnection, separated from each other by distance or circumstance.

“People everywhere are dividing their time between their jobs and the important people in their lives. It is hard to get the right balance. Having the support of your employer can make all the difference.

“Volvo understands this, especially the critical need for our staff to be with the people they love, by creating flexible policies that drive real change. “Our two key priorities are focused on understanding people’s needs at home, and providing a workplace where they feel safe, supported and appreciated.”

Volvo was the only car company to make this year's list, coming 16th. Other recognised firms includes Vietnamese food chain Roll'd, hotel firm Quest, and Jetts gym franchise.
