VW e-Up! ready for production

Volkswagen have announced that a full production version of its e-Up! concept will be available in 2013. The e-Up! is a zero-emissions electric version of the hugely popular Up! city car.

The e-Up!’s electric powertrain develops 60kW and 210Nm of torque which reportedly allow it to reach a top speed of 135km/h. Its 18kWh battery capacity also enables the e-Up! to travel distances of up to 150km.

A distinctive styling characteristic of the e-Up! is an arc-shaped row of LED daytime running lights on the front bumper.
