VIDEO: Jaguar XJR vs. Audi S8

Jaguar’s XJR and Audi’s S8 have both recently landed in Australia, and both offer a very different take on the super limo theme.

The Jaguar offers a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 with 404kW/680Nm, fed to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It’s also the lighter of the two cars at 1870kg.

Thanks to its all-wheel drive system, the Audi weighs in at a hefty 1990kg, and its twin-turbo V8 is also less powerful, though it still manages a formidable 382kW/650Nm.

To discover which one of these range-topping luxury performance machines is the fastest and the most entertaining for the driver, we put them head-to-head in the confines of Heathcote Raceway.
