Volkswagen Australia is recalling 67 Touaregs due to a fault with the rear axle.
The German manufacturer has issued a notice for the cars which were all made in 2021.
The fault, according to the Department for Infrastructure, relates to the rear axle assembly, which did not meet manufacturing specifications and may break.
A broken nut may lead to increased movement between the wishbone and hub carrier, and a change in the wheel alignment on the rear axle.
If a sudden, uncontrollable movement of the rear axle happened, it could increase the risk of injury/death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
A list of VINs for affected vehicles can be found here.
Owners are advised to contact their nearest authorised Volkswagen dealer to schedule a free appointment to have it fixed.
