Snapshot
- Only 2020 build models affected
- 17 units under recall
- Airbags may be delayed in deploying
Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for three of its models, affecting 2020-build GLC, E-Class and EQC vehicles.
A total of 17 units have been placed under notice due to electrical connectors on the side crash sensors potentially not meeting manufacturing specifications, leading to a possible delay in the deployment of the vehicle's airbags.
If the sensors fail to trigger the airbags in time, this could lead to an increased chance of injury in the event of an accident.
Mercedes-Benz is currently working with owners of affected vehicles to rectify the issue free of charge, also encouraging anyone who is unsure about whether their vehicle is under recall to contact their nearest dealer.
Alternatively, owners can contact the Mercedes-Benz customer assistance centre on 1300 300 896 or customerassistancecentre@daimler.com for further clarification.
