About the Jeep Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler and four-wheel driving go hand in hand, with solid axles front and rear, coil-sprung suspension, and excellent approach and departure angles being some of the well-publicised off-road credentials.
This iconic off-roader’s ancestry goes all the way back to the Willys MB “jeep” that played an important role during World War II.
The latest Jeep Wrangler, known as the JL, was released on the Australian market back in 2019, and is most commonly powered by a 3.6L V6 petrol engine dubbed the Pentastar. This motor produces 209kW and 347Nm and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
There are three trim specifications available in the Jeep Wrangler line-up, starting with the Night Eagle, next the Overland, and lastly the off-road ready Rubicon. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with front and rear locking differentials, lower reduction gearing in the transfer case, as well as a front disconnecting sway bar for extra suspension travel off road.
A vehicle that is effectively a Wrangler ute but called the Gladiator is also sold by Jeep.
