- Ioniq 5 allocation reopens on July 13
- Latest batch will include 130 examples
- All cars are pre-built, will be delivered within four to six weeks
Hyundai has confirmed it is opening the order books for another batch of its Ioniq 5 electric vehicle, set to go back on sale on July 13.
To cope with the high demand for the Ioniq 5, Hyundai has staggered the ordering process for its electric model, with the upcoming round marking the fifth allocation of the EV to go on sale since its launch in October last year and the latest batch since March.
A total of 130 cars will be up for grabs when the allocation opens on July 13, with Hyundai confirming "all are pre-built but they include a good spread of colour and variant mix".
Prospective buyers from all Australian states and territories other than the Northern Territory will be able to put in an order for the Ioniq 5, as Top End customers miss out for the fourth batch in a row.
Given the cars are already built, Hyundai estimates delivery times to customers of around four to six weeks, although more examples are set to arrive later this year.
"We are waiting on confirmation from our factory, but we will likely be going to market with another drop of cars in August and September as well," a Hyundai spokesperson told Wheels.
"People who miss out in July will have more chances in the coming months."
The latest release of the Ioniq 5 will bring its total Australian deliveries to roughly 700 units after the first batch sold out in under two hours.
