2023 Subaru Forester on sale in Australia ahead of fourth quarter launch

The 2023 Subaru Forester is now on sale in Australia, with its fourth-quarter arrival coming nearly six months after supply of the MY22 model ran out.

An evolution rather than a revolution of the facelifted model, which debuted in July last year, the MY23 Forester has received minor equipment tweaks for 2023, mainly affecting the higher grades of Subaru's crossover SUV.

Applying to the 2.5i Sport, 2.5i-S and Hybrid S variants, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror is now a standard feature, while the 2.5i Sport also gains sapphire blue pearl paint as a replacement of the outgoing dark blue pearl.

In addition to the equipment changes, increased costs throughout the production and logistics process have driven up the list price of the range by at least $1900, with the entry-level 2.5i now on sale from $37,890 before on-roads.

The 2.5i-L and Hybrid L have also gone up by $1900, with the 2.5i Premium incurring a $50 charge on top of that.

With new equipment as standard, the aforementioned 2.5i Sport, 2.5i-S and Hybrid S have undergone the biggest price jump by $2150, as the flagship hybrid variant now tops out at $49,350 before on-road costs.

The 2023 Subaru Forester is now available to order through the manufacturer's Australian dealership network, with the first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2022.
